Supporting Tuesday Open House Through Our Meal Train

Each Tuesday evening, the vicarage at St George’s opens its doors for Open House. It is a simple gathering, rooted in friendship and welcome, where people come together to share a meal and spend time in one another’s company. Week by week, this time around the table has become a quiet expression of Christ’s hospitality in our community.

To help sustain this ministry, we have created a Meal Train for anyone who feels able to contribute a meal. Even offering to cook once or twice a year makes a meaningful difference.

How to Take Part

You can sign up using the link below:

We usually cater for 15 to 20 people. Please feel free to choose the number that works best for you and include it in the notes when you sign up. It is also helpful to note whether your dish is vegetarian, vegan, or meaty.

If it is possible, please avoid sesame. Let us know about any allergens when you drop off your meal so that we can make sure everyone who attends can eat safely.

Drop-off is very straightforward. Simply speak to Alison, James, or Alexandra when you arrive. Meals can be fresh or frozen. If freezing a meal is easier for you, just speak with one of us, and we will arrange a good time to receive it.

A Shared Ministry of Hospitality

Thank you to everyone who has already taken part and to those considering it now. Your generosity helps us extend a welcome that is both warm and practical. Through these shared meals, we nourish not only those who gather but the life of fellowship at the heart of our church.
